A first national title for Pondicherry futsal team !

They did it! On February, 24th 2019, the Pondicherry futsal team won the national futsal championship beating Tamil Nadu, in a tight final game. Both teams scored 4 goals each at full time forcing a penalty shootout, in which Pondicherry emerged victorious, as described in the Times of India.

After several matches and exceptional saves, the goalkeeper Vinoth was entitled as the best one of the championship. As a reminder, the association was only created one year ago, gratifying even more the work of Pradeep and Around TILLAI (respectively General Secretary and President of the Futsal Federation of Pondicherry) and Cedric Leroy, the technical director. Besides, the exceptional performance of Pondicherry players, formed by City 5 football club, may bring them the opportunity to represent the country and play against the best of the best in the Futsal Asia Cup and why not Futsal World Cup.

A few weeks after this achievement, the team had the honour of being received by the Chief Minister of Pondicherry and took advantage to present this wonderful trophy.
