July 8th – Day 2 of the Mondial de France

Finally the team was proud to get qualified for the quarter finals although everyone knew the competition was going to get tough. The level was really good at that stage and we lost against Romania 1-3.  

For the classification games, the team was eager to win and to show what they were really made of. All the team embarked on a winning streak with a victory against Morocco (3-2), against France (3-0) and finally, against the Team World.

As the day came to an end, all of the players of Team India and their supporters started to realize that the Mondial de France was almost over. Although they were a bit disappointed with the scores, all of them were happy and thankful for this amazing event and the incredible opportunity to represent India in an international tournament.  


The Mondial de France finished with a closure ceremony where the organising team delivered the prizes and the trophees to the teams and individual players. Team India stood out for the number of supporters it had gathered, and  for the quality of some of its individual players.

The female goalkeeper Vinaya Seshan received a special trophy for her outstanding performance throughout the competition. On top of this, Team India midfielder Tony Mariannie got rewarded by being part of the “Mondial de France “Dream Team


The 7-A-Side World Cup “Mondial de France” gave  CITY 5 Team India the opportunity to show its talents.

The success of the adventure became possible thanks to the motivation and dedication from each member of the staff of Team India : Pradeep (manager/coach) who knew how to lead his troops, Cédric (manager/player) who was very present on the field, Franck P. (assistant coach) and Diez (mental coach) who both boosted the team and gave them the energy to pursue the victory. Finally, the expertise of the medical staff Franck T. (fitness trainer) and Johanna (osteopath) was precious to enhance each individual performance and to prevent injuries.
